Sufficiently comprehensive mapping of acid sulphate soils and identifying loading risks posed by such soils using consistent methods, and supplementary studies on adverse effects to obtain an adequate overall view.

A guide has been published on the mapping and investigation of acid sulphate soils in peat production areas. The purpose of the guide is to promote the application of consistent methods and practices in studies relating to acid sulphate soils in these areas. The guide can also be used in other studies relating to acid sulphate soils carried out in the context of other types of land use.
