DESCRIPTION OF THE POLICY INSTRUMENT

Providing advisory services and guidance on wastewater management in scattered settlements.

STATE OF IMPLEMENTATION

Completed. (All the elements of the measure have been completed both in terms of time and at all planned locations. If a measure consists of an unlimited continuum of measures, a measure can be regarded as having been completed once the first sub-measure has been completed.)

FURTHER INFORMATION ON THE STATE OF IMPLEMENTATION

The new Environmental Protection Act (527/2014) makes it easier to site peat production in mires where the natural state has been significantly altered due to drainage. The new Act has been applied to permit-related matters initiated after the entry into force of the Act, and therefore there will be a delay before the impact of section 13 of the Act is seen in practice.
