Improving the conditions for the implementation of flood water retention projects when developing flood risk management and land use, taking into account objectives relating to ecological status and biodiversity.
STATE OF IMPLEMENTATION
Completed. (All the elements of the measure have been completed both in terms of time and at all planned locations. If a measure consists of an unlimited continuum of measures, a measure can be regarded as having been completed once the first sub-measure has been completed.)
Potential for flood water retention has been examined in all flood risk management plans, and flood water retention measures have been proposed in those plans where such measures are considered possible. In addition, the potential for flood water retention has been examined as part of the development of water resources management in forestry, peat production and agricultural areas. Water management projects in agriculture and forestry have been funded under the Water Protection Programme.
