SAVE2 – Improving the quality of the Archipelago Sea by applying gypsum to agricultural fields – further monitoring

DESCRIPTION OF ACTION

The SAVE2 project will continue the SAVE1 project by monitoring water quality and the effects of gypsum on soil and crops until the end of 2020. In addition, the project will provide more detailed information on the effects, efficacy and usability of gypsum in various laboratory tests and model the impact of large-scale gypsum treatment on nutrient concentrations in coastal waters. The project will also promote studies on gypsum treatment in other coastal states of the Baltic Sea through joint research projects.
