Field-scale nutrient loading modelling and its development – a follow-on project (LOHKO II)

DESCRIPTION OF ACTION

The project continues to further develop the VEMALA/ICECREAM model and carries out an economic assessment. The aim is to describe loading from different types of fields in the current state, the effects of different farming practises on loading and the cost impact of load reducing measures on the economy of the farms. This helps to better assess the feasibility and cost-effectiveness of nutrient reduction targets set regarding water bodies and marine waters and to promote the use of effective water protection measures on farms.
