DESCRIPTION OF ACTION
The project seeks to increase circular economy activities in the Kangasala region by developing nutrient recycling. This is expected to bring economic and environmental benefits. Enhanced nutrient recycling is also expected to bring savings in the use of materials, create new business opportunities and reduce nutrient loading on local water bodies and thereby also on the Baltic Sea. The methods used in the model include biogas production, insect breeding, biochar production, separation of the valuable components of side streams, algae breeding and water treatment.
