DESCRIPTION OF ACTION
“CIRCWASTE – towards circular economy in Finland” is a seven-year project that promotes the efficient use of material flows, waste prevention and the recycling of materials. All actions contribute to implementing the national waste management plan and directing Finland towards a circular economy. The project is a creation of 20 partners and 10 funding organisations, coordinated by the Finnish Environment Institute. CIRCWASTE is funded to a large extent by the EU LIFE programme. Reducing food loss and recycling nutrients (from cowsheds to fields, for example) are essential in a circular economy.
