DESCRIPTION OF ACTION
With the calculator, consumers can determine the impact of their consumption habits on nutrient pollution in the Baltic Sea, i.e. their Baltic Sea footprint. The calculator calculates the emissions of phosphorus and nitrogen, the most important nutrients eutrophying the Baltic Sea. The calculator covers all main factors contributing to and compensating for nutrient loading. Nutrient loading is caused by food production, wastewaters from permanent and holiday homes, energy consumption, transport and other consumption. Factors compensating for nutrient emissions include the consumption and fishing of wild fish.
