DESCRIPTION OF ACTION
The southern populations (the Archipelago Sea and the Gulf of Finland) of the Baltic ringed seal were counted on ice in the spring of 2018. At the same time, Russia counted ringed seals in its waters. In the coming years, aerial counts will be carried out, ice conditions permitting, if funding is secured.
